Submission: Inquiry into Anti-Vilification Protections

The Hub has made a submission to the Victorian inquiry into anti-vilification protections. The submission focuses on the role of the state in relation to anti-vilification laws and the appropriate scope of such laws. It discusses the effectiveness of the Victorian Act as well as its interaction with other state and Commonwealth legislation. The submission also looks at legal issues (including in the context of contracts with digital platforms) that may affect how law enforcement agencies can detect and prosecute online offending.
